There is still sound from navigation so all sound isn't out. Scroll down to Voice Commands and make sure it in moved to enable Also make sure under sound it it set to play sound to phone speaker ( you can also. The music still appears to be playing (the clock still runs) but no sound. When using carplay to stream apple music and also using Waze for navigation the music audio will quit. If you google "Waze Microphone issue w/ Sync" you'll find all sorts of hits describing the issue with unfortunately no fix that I've seen yet. 5 (Edited) NoAlt said: Wondering if anyone else has this issue. It's annoying but Sync isn't really the only problem here, it's also a known Waze bug. Alternatively, keeping Waze but disconnecting Carplay and just using Sync Bluetooth also works (which is basically what I do to take calls in the truck). In Google Maps it knows to route the audio through the car speakers even if play audio over phone speaker is checked. For example, deleting Waze from your phone and trying again should allow good calls with Carplay/Sync. The first time you connect to the app, Waze asks your permission to share certain information with the app. When using Waze + Android Auto in my own car on the built in screen the sound still comes though the phone, not the cars speakers. Remove any one of those variables from the equation and things work. Waze as long as it's installed on your phone has partial control of your microphone and it seems that Waze/Carplay and Sync fight for control of the microphone. Waze hasn't implemented, on iOS for example, the standard audio output selection mode that every other app in the world uses. Not sure if that's because of the OS, hardware or Waze, but that's the way it works. IPhone's connecting through CarPlay and those phones have the Waze app installed. With Speaker and prefer BT off, if your phone is paired with a streaming device, Waze will still use it. After digging in to it seems there's commonality for the users affected. I looked in to this issue months ago as I noticed this problem immediately "after" buying the truck on my first conference call on the way home from the dealership.
